📜 History & Significance

Mera Peak (6,476m) is the highest of Nepal’s officially designated trekking peaks and one of the most accessible high-altitude summits in the world. First climbed in 1953 by Jimmy Roberts — the same year Hillary and Tenzing summited Everest — Mera Peak has since become the benchmark introduction to Himalayan mountaineering.

The summit offers one of the most extraordinary panoramas on Earth: on a clear day, five of the world’s six highest peaks are visible simultaneously — Everest (8,849m), Kangchenjunga (8,586m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,485m), and Cho Oyu (8,188m). Standing at 6,476m surrounded by these giants is a humbling and transcendent experience.

The approach through the Hinku Valley passes through remote Rai and Sherpa villages, ancient forests, and high-altitude yak pastures — a journey through one of Nepal’s least-visited and most pristine wilderness areas.
